Katsushika Hokusai

Katsushika Hokusai, Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, The Great Wave off Kanaga.

It is a famous masterpiece of Hokusai.

Hokusai was born in Sumida Ward and there are plenty of places connected with Hokusai  in Asakusa.

He died on May 10, 1849 (18th of April of the 2nd year of the Kaei era by the old calendar), and was buried at the Seikyō-ji in Tokyo (Taito Ward)

It was a very long life.

The graveyard is located at the Osakuni temple in Moto-Asakusa. I think it’s also good to visit if you come to Asakusa.
